Controversial – maybe, but in this release we have introduced the ability to add “Manager’s eyes only” sections to employee appraisals. Essentially, allow a manager to add notes to an appraisal that their direct report can’t see.
We’ve resisted this change for a number of years, but it has become such a popular request, we’ve added it. The main demand has been around documenting an employee’s potential within the organisation. Some of our customers feel that it’s such an emotive subject, that they don’t want the employee to see the information (at least initially) but they want to collect it because it’s an important input to any talent management process.
